Dr. Konstan is the Vice Dean for Translational Research at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and the PI of the Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative of Cleveland. Dr. Konstan leads multiple local and statewide health improvement initiatives, including First Year Cleveland, tasked with reducing infant mortality in Cuyahoga County, and projects focused on improving health and reducing health disparities in Medicaid patients across Ohio. These include the Ohio Department of Medicaid funded Ohio Cardiovascular Health Collaborative (CARDI-OH) and its associated Ohio Hypertension Quality Improvement Project, and the recently-established state-wide Diabetes Consortium and its associated quality improvement project. Dr. Konstan served as Principal Investigator for the Greater Cleveland Health Neighborhood, a consortium focused on improving healthcare access for underserved populations. In addition to leading these health improvement initiatives, Dr. Konstan is internationally recognized for his research and expertise in cystic fibrosis. Among his many awards are the “All Stars Among Us” award for community service from Major League Baseball and People Magazine.
