Summary

This case study aimed to bring together perspectives of community residents with insight from local data experts to better understand the impact of the neighborhood on health. The findings highlighted residents' perspectives on health and healthy living including connectedness, social participation, trust, community pride and neighbor support systems which differed from health care providers' perspectives. This demonstrates the importance of involving community residents in the data design process for evaluating the impact of community development initiatives on health. Reviewed February 2025.
