Summary
Listen to Kathleen Dungan, MD, MPH, from The Ohio State University, describe forms of diabetes that are challenging to diagnose. These include the overlap between type 1 and type 2 diabetes and atypical forms, including monogenic diabetes, LADA, MODY, syndromic diabetes, and type 3c diabetes. She will review the diagnostic testing procedures in persons with diabetes diagnosed in youth or young adults to avoid misclassification and describe treatment strategies for atypical diabetes.
